Scariff Community Council, in association with the Derg Credit Union, will host the 10th annual Scariff 10km Run/Walk on Sunday 10th September at 2pm.

All proceeds from this year’s event will go to three local and very worthy causes, Raheen Community Hospital, Slainte an Chlair (Clare Cancer Support) and Scariff Bay Community Radio.
Now in its 10th year, Scarriff has become one of the top 10k events in the county since it began in 2008.
Despite the ever increasing accessibility of 10k events throughout the region, the Scariff 10k continues to enjoy huge local support besides attracting top athletes who enjoy a well-organised event.
Proceeds from each year’s event go to local and worthwhile fundraising efforts in the community. To date around €20,000 has been raised.
Runners and walkers are encouraged to come out on the day, enjoy the exercise and support these very worthy local causes.
The route will appeal to runners of all levels, representing a stiff test to those seeking a challenge while also boasting the most stunning views of Lough Derg and the surrounding area.
The enormous popularity of a 5K route introduced in recent years will once again be available to those preferring the shorter distance.
Showers and changing facilities will be available in the GAA hall. Cash prizes will be presented for first, second and third places in both male and female categories.
The event starts at 2 pm sharp, all entrants are asked to assemble by 1.45 pm at Market Square. Further details and information are available on or by calling 087-9459412.
