Sixmilebridge U10 Boys teams returned home with gold and silver medals from the Clare Community Games indoor soccer event which was held in Corofin last Saturday morning.

Both teams competed in three games on their way to the final which was contested in a very sporting manner. Gold medal winners were Aidan Moloney, Jack McCloskey, Dan Lynch, Mark Mullins, Harry Gavin, Daniel Black, Cian Conroy and Cillian Murphy while Silver medallists were Jack O’Halloran, Daithi Casey, Zak Phelan, Donal O’Leary, Rory Chaplin, Luke Deegan, Patrick Lonergan.

It took a last minute goal from Eoghan Pewter for Bridge Utd to take the full three points at The Cragg on Sunday morning last. Just as the game was heading for a scoreless draw Christy Griffen drove into the box before squaring to Pewter whose shot went to the net in off the post for the winner.

Cup Semi Finals

This Sunday at 2pm, Bridge United A will face Lifford FC in the semi final of the Clare Cup at Frank Healy Park, and will hope to continue their recent good form to secure a place in the final. Bridge United Youths are also in semi final action this weekend when they face Avenue Utd in the Clare Cup on Saturday at 2pm in Bunratty. Best of luck to both teams.


Bridge United U6 Group commences this weekend. In addition Under 6 academy training for boys (born 2011) and girls (born 2010/11) kicks off this Saturday at 11.00am at Wolfe Tones Astro Turf in Shannon. Cost is €3 per player. Head coach Shane Murphy will be assisted by Leticia Keane, Paul Fitzpatrick, Tine Downes, Mark Cosgrove and Tommy Conroy.
