Mark O’Donnell, the recently appointed Games Development Officer at  Wolfe Tones na Sionna, organised a very successful Easter Camp for boys and girls at the club from March 27th-29th.

In all, over 65 very happy children attended the 3-day Easter Camp. Five Shannon primary schools were represented, in addition to children from Sixmilebridge and Newmarket schools.
The youngsters had the opportunity to play all codes of Gaelic Games. One of the camp coaches, Jason McCarthy, is now an established member of the Clare senior hurling panel and the kids were also treated to guest visits from senior football and LGFA stars, Cian O’Dea and Laurie Ryan.
According to Mark, the three-day event hit it lucky with some fine March weather; in turn, there was huge enthusiasm for developing skills, meeting new friends and playing matches.
On the final day of the camp, children were presented with Easter eggs and special prizes for participating in the obstacle course skills challenge.
Wolfe Tones GAA Club plans to organise further camps during school holidays in the near future. Wolfe Tones and Mark O’Donnell wish to thank all schools, local businesses and club personnel for their promotion and support of the Easter Camp!
Well done to all concerned, in particular, the coaching team of Paul Hogan, Darragh Lohan, Jason McCarthy, Kris Currid, Derek Morris, Sinead Kelly and Aoife Nihill as well as Kathy Hogan, Helen Duggan and Fiona Walsh for their assistance.
